The Institute takes part in a forum in China

Between July 26 and 31, an international conference on earthquake engineering was held in Beijing, marking 50 years since the devastating 7.6 magnitude earthquake in Tangshan, China.
At the invitation of the organizers, Prof. Svetoslav Georgiev joined the event. Within the framework of the program, Prof. Georgiev held working meetings with the leadership of the China Earthquake Administration, with the leadership of the Geological Institute at the China Earthquake Administration, with the heads of the geochronology laboratories at the Geological Institute and visited the geotechnical and rock mechanics laboratories of the Beijing University of Technology. The established contacts between the Geological Institute at the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences and the Chinese colleagues create prerequisites for the successful development of future joint projects.
