Every year the world celebrates Earth Day - April 22 with various initiatives. The Geological Institute of the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences also maintains this tradition. In 2025, the official part of the program will be held in the central building of the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences - Administration, "Prof. Marin Drinov" hall from 2:00 PM to 5:30 PM on April 22, 2025.

The program highlights will be related to a topical themes for our society, on which we are actively working at GI-BAS – the critical raw materials in Bulgaria. The new National Scientific Program for Critical Raw Materials will be presented, as well as a successful international project of the institute, also related to critical raw materials.

The event will be attended by H.E. Ms. Kirsti Pohjankuka (Ambassador of the Republic of Finland to Bulgaria), as well as representatives of the Ministry of Education and Science, the Ministry of Energy and the Bulgarian Mining and Geological Chamber.
