Minutes of the Scientific Council Meetings

From January 6, 2022, to January 11, 2023, an electronic voting procedure was held among the members of the Scientific Council of the Geological Institute at the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences on the following items:

1. Enrollment of a new doctoral student, Geochemistry and Petrology Section (report by Assoc. Prof. L. Metodiev)
2. Extension of the term of regular doctoral studies (report by Assoc. Prof. R. Vassileva).

Twenty-three members of the Scientific Council participated in the vote. Accordingly, the Scientific Council of the Geological Institute decided:

On item 1.
Radoslav Radev Kalchev is enrolled as a regular doctoral student in the Geochemistry and Petrology Section for a period of 3 years, starting from January 1, 2023 (23 votes in favor, none against, and no abstentions).

Re: Item 2.
To extend by one year (until December 31, 2023) the term of the doctoral program of Georgi Milenkov, a regular doctoral student in the Mineralogy and Mineral Resources Section (23 votes in favor, none against, and no abstentions).

From December 29, 2022, to January 4, 2023, an electronic voting procedure was held among the members of the Scientific Council of the Geological Institute at the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences on the following items:

1. Report on a joint research project (EBR) with the Slovak Academy of Sciences on "Correlation and comparison of products of Late Permian and Early to Middle Triassic magmatic activity in the Balkanides (intermediate and outer zones) and the Western Carpathians," led on the Bulgarian side by Dr. A. Lazarova;
2. Application for extension of employment contract with GI (report by Prof. R. Nakov).

Twenty-three members of the Scientific Council participated in the vote. Accordingly, the Scientific Council of GI decided:

On item 1.
The report on the EBR project on "Correlation and comparison of products of Late Permian and Early to Middle Triassic magmatic activity in the Balkanides (intermediate and outer zones) and the Western Carpathians" was accepted with 23 votes "for". There were no votes against and no abstentions.

Re: Item 2.
The Scientific Council of the GI approved (with 23 votes in favor, no abstentions, and no votes against) the proposal to extend the employment contract with the GI of Prof. R. Nakov.
