From March 6, 2026, to March 12, 2026, an electronic voting procedure was held among the members of the Scientific Council of the Geological Institute at the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences on the following item:
1. Reports from GI beneficiaries under the “National Program for Young Scientists and Postdoctoral Researchers – 2,” “Young Scientists” module:
1.1. Report by Senior Assistant Professor Dr. Milen Stavrev;
1.2. Report by Senior Assistant Professor Dr. Mila Trayanova-Koleva;
1.3. Report by Ph.D. candidate Gatian Morin;
2. Report by the Director of the Institute announcing a competition for the academic position of “Senior Assistant Professor” in scientific field 4.4. Earth Sciences, specialty “Mineralogy and Crystallography,” for the needs of the “Mineralogy and Mineral Resources” department.

Today, Monday, February 19, 2026, at 2:30 p.m., a meeting of the Scientific Council of the Geological Institute at the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences was held.

Twenty members of the Scientific Council of the Geological Institute attended the meeting. The meeting had a quorum.

Today, Monday, January 26, 2026, at 3:30 p.m., a meeting of the Scientific Council of the Geological Institute at the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences was held.

Twenty-two members of the Scientific Council of the Geological Institute attended the meeting. The meeting had a quorum.
The agenda for the meeting included the following items:
1. Review of applications for new doctoral programs—main competition for the 2026/2027 academic year and supplementary competition to fill unfilled positions from the 2025/2026 competition;
1.1. Proposal to announce a competition for a full-time doctoral program in Area 4.4. “Earth Sciences” under the doctoral program “Engineering Geology” in the regular session for the 2026/2027 academic year, for the needs of the “Environmental Geotechnics” section (report by Prof. D. Karastanev);
1.2. Proposal to announce one competition for a full-time doctoral program in Area 4.4. “Earth Sciences” under the doctoral program “Mineralogy and Crystallography” in the regular session for the 2026/2027 academic year, for the needs of the “Mineralogy and Mineral Resources” section (report by Prof. R. Minutes No. 3 of January 26, 2026

Today, Thursday, January 15, 2026, at 2:30 p.m., a meeting of the Scientific Council of the Geological Institute at the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences was held.

With a reduced membership of 23, 17 members of the GI Scientific Council attended the meeting. The meeting had a quorum.
The announced agenda for the meeting included the following items:
1. Discussion and adoption of a statement by the GI-BAS Scientific Council regarding the renovation of the BAS building in Ruse;
2. Enrollment of a part-time doctoral student in the “Regional Geology” doctoral program in the “Seismology” Department;

From January 6, 2026, to January 12, 2026, an electronic voting procedure was held among the members of the Scientific Council of the Geological Institute at the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences on the following item:

1. Discussion and approval of a report on a bilateral international cooperation project between the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences and the Czech Academy of Sciences on the topic: “In Search of Seismogenic Fault Parameters Using a Combined Methodology in Slow-Deforming Terrains in the Czech Republic and Bulgaria,” led on the Bulgarian side by Assoc. Prof. Dr. A. Radulov.
