Reconstructing the Cretaceous Greenhouse

Lecture by Prof. Andy Gale at the Geological Institute, June 19, 2024, 12 PM

The next lecture in the series of scientific seminars at the Institute of Geology at the BAS is on "Reconstructing the Cretaceous Greenhouse". The lecturer is Prof. Andy Gale.

Prof. Gale is a stratigrapher and paleontologist with special interests in the Cretaceous, where he studies echinoderms, cirripedes, and other groups. He worked for many years at the Natural History Museum and Imperial College London, and later at the University of Portsmouth, UK. He has published numerous articles on various aspects of geology and paleontology.

His current work involves investigating the palaeontological aspects and biostratigraphic potential of small pelagic microcrinoids, which he hopes to find in Upper Jurassic sections of Bulgaria.

The seminar will be held on June 19, 2024 (Wednesday) at 12:00 p.m. Duration (incl. discussion): approx. 1 hour. Working language: English.
