MINISTRY OF ENVIRONMENT AND WATERS Project 204 "Trans-border Sections and Itineraries"

 The project "Trans-border Sections and Itineraries" is being developed under the contract No 204 between the Ministry of Environment and Waters and the Geological Institute of the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences. It aims to assist the organization of the 32 International Geological Congress (Florence, August 2004) with preparation of geological field trips and symposia and of materials such as geological transects, explanatory notes, guide books, etc. The financial assistance of the Ministry under this contract is crucial for the successful elaboration of the Bulgarian parts of transects III and VII, of the guide books for the field trips B26 and P36 and the workshop PWO 06.
All Bulgarian materials have been prepared and submitted within the deadlines of the Organizing Committee. The Bulgarian part has been also able to organize in Sofia a short workshop dedicated to the Balkan part (Albania, Macedonia, Bulgaria) of Transect III, and short field work visits in Northern Greece for the unification of the two parts (Bulgarian and Greek) of the field trip B26.
