Hydrogeological Department in Geological Institute, BAS is the largest hydrogeological section in Bulgaria. It provides scientific investigations of national significance, training highly qualified researchers and scientific experts and applies specific approaches in solving of complex practical problems. Hydrogeological Department has qualified and experienced scientific staff, which directs efforts to carry out investigations for the needs of national economics and development. International scientific collaboration contributes to incorporation of Bulgarian hydrogeology to the world trends and is a solid support for the EU membership. Now head of the Department is Assoc. Prof. Dr. Aleksey Benderev.
