The Geotechnical Research Station - (GRS) was established in 1973 in Rousse city to study the unfavorable geotechnical and seismic settings in Northern Bulgaria. The Station is department of the Geological Institute, Bulgarian Academy of Science since 1994. In GRS work one Professor - doctor of geological sciences , two Assistants - PhD (one is engineer geologist and other - civil engineer) and support staff of six persons. The Research station has soil mechanics laboratory, drilling machines and equipment for field geotechnical and geological studies. The head of the Research Station - Dr. Vanushka Petrova
