Project RNF 01/6 goals and implementation

Main goal of this project is to create databases of trace element and isotope ratios which can be used for:
1) calculation of mean reference values for the common rock types and continental crust in Bulgaria;
2) to serve as a tool for environmental studies, defining scientifically established limits for potentially harmful elements, their isotopes and various degrees of pollution;
3) supporting efforts in various modern aspects of mineral exploration;
4) providing isotope geochronological data for magmatic, metamorphic and sedimentary rocks;
5) understanding petrogenetic and tectonic processes in the country;
6) support archaeometric studies.
