GEOLAB is an independent unit of the Geological Institute of Bulgarian Academy of Science. At the beginning of 1999 GEOLAB was recognized as accredited laboratory according to EN for measuring the chemical and mineral composition, physical-mechanical properties of soils, rock and industrial materials and also for calibration of devices for measuring chemical composition. Eight laboratories for carrying out of analyses of rocks, minerals, ores,soils, recent sea sediments,as well as drinking, underground, mineral and waste water, building materials are located in GEOLAB. Supporting software for supplying and controlling the accuracy repeatability, correctness and reproduction of parameters and periodical data of the measurements has been created.
The quality and quantity control compliance with the requirements of BDS, ISO, EN and other standard documents has been performed.
